TAKAGI - T-KJr

The T-KJr model is the smallest unit in the Takagi line-up. The T-KJr is perfect for light residential (i.e. small apartment units) and radiant heating applications.

Released in 2003, the T-K Jr. is the smallest water heater in the Takagi tankless line. But this small, but powerful unit - with gas inputs up to 140,000 BTU per hour - can meet all the hot-water needs of a small American home or apartment with one or two bathrooms, as well as smaller commercial applications. Designed to virtually do anything a 40-gallon tank-type water heater can do and more, the compact, wall mounted T-K Jr. can support hydronic baseboard or radiant floor heating applications, as well as provide domestic hot water to plumbing fixtures and appliances. The T-K Jr. has an efficiency rating of 81%, using natural gas, and 83% with propane. At an average (rise in temperature) of 60°F in warmer areas - where the winter ground water is 60°F and with the output set at 120°F - the unit will provide 3.8 GPM, or 228 GPH. In colder areas where the input temperature may be 40°F or less you can expect a flow rate of about 2.7 GPM or 162 GPH.

Cost-efficient and environmentally friendly, the T-K Jr. can be converted into a direct-vent unit by using the optional TV09 conversion kit for installation in a garage, a utility closet or any confined space in which makeup air may be limited. Please refer to "Accessories" for more information on venting options.

Using the average of 60°F input water cited above, the T-K Jr. can provide enough hot water for one shower and a lavatory basin at a time; or one low-flow shower (2.5 GPM or less) and an appliance, such as a dishwasher or washing machine, at the same time. For much colder input temperatures, such as 40°F or lower, this unit can provide endless hot water for consecutive uses; that is, running only one major fixture at a time. Please refer to the flow charts for specific rates.

The four preset temperatures on the unit are: 113°F, 122°F, 140°F, and 182°F. To achieve any temperatures other than those presets, your client will require the TK-RE20 temperature controller.

For Energy Star Certifications please follow Specification Sheets and Literature that is dated 2009 ONLY. As of March 27, 2009, ONLY the T-K3-Jr Liquid Propane model qualifies as an Energy Star unit.

T-K3-SP Installation Guide

T-K3-SP

The T-K3-SP model was designed for light residential applications. This model can be used for special projects.

Released in 2008, the T-K3-SP is one of Takagi's residential tankless water heaters. At 13.8 inches wide and weighing only 40 pounds, its ultra-compact design allows it to be mounted on a wall or installed between two wall studs using Takagi's TK-RBO1 recess box, so it's even more inconspicuous.
The T-K3-SP features a built-in power venting system and requires Category III venting or vent caps.
It can provide an unlimited supply of hot water continuously because there is no storage tank to heat and reheat. The T-K3-SP starts heating water at 0.5 gallons per minute (GPM), and can keep that endless supply of hot water running up to a maximum flow rate of 7.0 GPM.
The T-K3-SP also offers four separate temperature settings, ranging from 113 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit, so it does not require the use of a separate remote control.
Unlike other Takagi models, the T-K3-SP is not linkable or direct vent convertible.

T-K3-OS

The T-K3-OS model is the best outdoor model on the market!  The T-K3-OS has a built-in power venting system and was designed specifically for outdoor installations. The T-K3-OS does not require any additional Category III venting or vent caps, making installation one step easier for installers.

Released in 2007, the T-K3-OS is Takagi’s tankless water heater built only for outdoor installations.
The T-K3-OS is one of Takagi’s smaller tankless water heaters. At 13.8 inches wide and weighing only 40 pounds, its ultra-compact design allows it to be mounted on a wall or installed between two wall studs using Takagi's TK-RBO2 recess box, so it's even more inconspicuous. Since it can only be installed outside, the T-K3-OS is ideal for warmer climates.
The T-K3-OS features a built-in power venting system, but unlike any of its predecessors, the new tankless water heater does not require any additional Category III venting or vent caps, making installation one step easier for its installers.
It can provide an unlimited supply of hot water continuously because there is no storage tank to heat and reheat. The T-K3-0S starts heating water at 0.5 gallons per minute (GPM), and can keep that endless supply of hot water running from as low as 0.4 GPM up to a maximum flow rate of 7.0 GPM.

Takagi's newest tankless water heater also features a thermal rating of 83% for both liquid propane and natural gas, so it is extremely efficient and environmentally friendly. Since tankless water heaters only burn gas when hot water is needed, installing this unit can help homeowners save up to 45% on their monthly gas bills.
The T-K3-OS also offers four separate temperature settings, ranging from 113 to 167 degrees, so it does not require the use of a separate remote control.

Takagi T-K3 Spec Sheet

T-K3

The T-K3 model, also known as the "Revolutionary T-K3," is one of Takagi's most versatile and powerful residential units. The T-K3 offers Easy-Link capability, which allows you to connect up to four units without the use of a controller unit. The T-K3 can also be converted to a direct vent model.

There are many features that make this unit stand out from the rest:

Compact Size: Only 13.8 inches wide, the T-K3 can be recessed between wall studs for even more space savings! A special recess box is available for outdoor installations.

Lower Activating Flow Rate: The T-K3 activates at only 0.5 GPM, which allows the use of smaller water flows in bathroom sinks and showers. This reduces water waste and allows for stable temperatures.

Parallel Installation: Using Takagi's Easy Link technology, the T-K3 can be installed in parallel with up to three other units without the use of an additional control box, generating more flow while saving money, space and installation time. Four T-K3 unites will deliver a total of 21.6 GPM at 60 degrees F delta T; or 26 GPM at a 50 degree F delta T.

Direct-Vent Conversion: The T-K3 can be easily converted into a direct vent model for inside installations that need to import combustion air from outside.

Eight Temperature Settings: Instead of the usual four settings, the T-K3 offers eight separate temperatures, set by dip-switch: 104 degree F, 113 degree F, 122 degree F, 131 degree F, 140 degree F, 158 degree F, 176 degree F, and 185 degree F. This versatility reduces the need for a separate remote control. However, setting temperatures other than the eight presets requires the TM-RE10 temperature controller.

Longer vent runs: The T-K3 can have a vent pipe run up to 50 feet with five elbows, instead of the normal 35 with three elbows.

As you can see, the T-K3 incorporates all those "why-don't-you-have-this?" features into this one new product. Its larger flow capacity through parallel connections will meet the hot-water needs of most high-volume residential applications and many commercial projects, too. In short, the T-K3 fills the gap between the single residential heater and multiple commercial T-M1 units. Performance depends on the temperature of the ground water of course: At a delta T of 60 degrees F in warmer areas - for example, where the winter ground water is 60 degrees F and with the output set at 122 degrees F - the T-K3 will provide a 5.4 GPM, or 324 GPH. In colder areas where the input temperature may be 40 degrees F or less, expect a flow rate about 4.1 GPM, or 246 GPH.

Takagi T-H1 Spec Sheet
Takagi T-H1 Install Guide

T-H1

The T-H1 model, Takagi's "Condensing" unit, is one of the most enegy efficient tankless units (up to 95% in thermal efficiency) in the Tankless industry.  The T-H1 was designed for residential and commercial use and offers direct vent capability and much more.

The T-H1, Takagi's greenest model, is a condensing unit with an average efficiency of 92% with natural gas and 95% with propane. At a ∆T of 60ºF in warmer areas - where the winter ground water is 60ºF and with the output set at 120ºF - the unit will provide 6.1 GPM, or 366 GPH. In older areas where the input temperature may be 40ºF or less, you can expect a flow rate of about 4.3 GPM or 258 GPH.

The T-H1 can provide at least three showers' worth of water simultaneously along with one appliance at input temperature of 60ºF or greater.

The T-H1 is also the industry's most efficient. This state-of-the-art tankless water heater uses not one, but two heat exchangers to squeeze additional energy from the water, resulting in the higher-than-average efficiencies stated above. Takagi has added a stainless steel secondary heat exchanger to recover waste heat from the vent stack before it leaves the unit to preheat the incoming ground water. This second heat exchanger and the resulting condensation that forms from the high efficiency operation, classify it as a "Condensing" Water Heater. The condensate that these types of heaters produce can be slightly acidic, so it's collected and sent through a built-in neutralizer, allowing for disposal into standard drainpipe.

With a variable gas input up to 199,000 BTU per hour and its high efficiency, the T-H1 can deliver more than 10 gallons of hot water per minute under ideal conditions. As a result, the unit will meet the needs of most large homes, as well as single heater-usage commercial and industrial applications. Able to deliver water up to 182ºF, the T-H1 is appropriate for sanitary applications needing 180ºF water to meet code requirements.

The four preset temperatures of the unit are: 113ºF, 122ºF, 140ºF, and 182ºF. To achieve any temperature other than those presets, the user will require the TK-RE10 temperature controller.

Takagi's T-H2 "2nd Generation High Efficiency Tankless" unit, is one of the most energy efficient tankless units (up to 95% in thermal efficiency estimated) in the Tankless industry.  The T-H2 was designed for residential and light commercial use and offers Easy-Link and much more.

The T-H2, Takagi's greenest model, is the 2nd Generation High Efficiency Tankless unit with an average efficiency of 92% with natural gas (estimated) and 95% with propane (estimated). At a ∆T of 60ºF in warmer areas - where the winter ground water is 60ºF and with the output set at 120ºF - the unit will provide 6.1 GPM, or 366GPH. In other areas where the input temperature may be 40ºF or less, you can expect a flow rate of about 4.6 GPM or 276 GPH.

The T-H2 can provide at least three showers' worth of water simultaneously along with one appliance at input temperature of 60ºF or greater.

The T-H2 can be vented with PVC, providing 0 clearance for DV installations. PVC venting can be used in all applications and 3" exhaust venting is coming soon. This state-of-the-art tankless water heater uses not one, but two heat exchangers to maximize the unit’s energy efficiency, resulting in the higher-than-average efficiencies stated above. The primary heat exchanger is made of "Heat Resistant Alloy" HRS35 Copper, Takagi has also added a "High Corrosion Resistant Stainless Steel" #316L secondary heat exchanger to recover waste heat from the vent stack before it leaves the unit to preheat the incoming ground water. This second heat exchanger and the resulting condensation that forms from the high efficiency operation, classify it as a "Condensing" Water Heater.

With a variable gas input up from 13,000 Btu/h to 199,000 Btu/h and with its high efficiency, the T-H2 can deliver 9.0 gallons (Max.) of hot water per minute under ideal conditions and when you Easy-Link 4 units together you can produce up to 36GPM (Max.) as a result, the unit will meet the needs of large homes, as well as light commercial and industrial applications. Able to deliver water up to 185ºF, the T-H2 is appropriate for sanitary applications needing 180ºF water to meet code requirements.

The T-H2 features sixteen temperature presets for flexibility of installation. To achieve any temperature other than the sixteen presets, the user will require the TM-RE30 temperature controller.
